From here begins our journey to discover the Côte d’Azur, the cities and towns that characterize it, the beaches and the most beautiful anchorages.
The best way to discover the Côte d’Azur is by taking a week on a sailing boat with a skipper, a weekend on a boat or a day trip, aboard a Nababbo Sail yacht!
Today we are talking about Cap Martin and Roquebrune, the watershed between Monaco and Menton.
The castle and the ancient village of Roquebrune date back to the 10th century and are perched on a hill not far from the Principality of Monaco. During one of the “obligatory” stops in Cap Martin aboard our sailing and motor boats, our skippers will not fail to let you admire their beauty.
The eastern side of Cap Martin offers quite good shelter from the sea and the wind coming from the west. The anchorage is very nice, on sand and with shallow and crystalline water. During our weeks on the boat, our weekends on the boat and our excursions, we almost always stop here for a beautiful swim. From this anchorage it is possible to swim to the numerous “bord de mer” clubs and the clear beaches of Menton.
The west side of the cape instead protects us from the east wind and it is here that on windy days our sailors give their best with breathtaking anchors just a few meters from the ground, where the water has an incredible color. From here we can admire the Principality of Monaco and the countless villas of this area which is one of the most exclusive in the world!
At the bottom of the bay, on the beach, we find the legendary “CABANON” by Le Corbusier, a small house “pied dans l ‘eau” where the most famous French architect loved to retire to relax and work on his brilliant ideas.
Cap Martin is one of the favorite destinations of our day trips by boat on the French Riviera departing from Monaco, Cap d’Ail or Menton. Taking an excursion with one of our boats, both motor and sailing and with our skippers, you will most likely stop in Cap Martin for a nice swim.
During our weeks on a sailing boat with skipper, after the stop in Cap Martin, our skippers resume navigation towards the West towards Monaco, a mythical place full of charm, charm and charm, famous all over the world. We will talk about this and much more in our very first article. Good wind!
