Located on the cape of the same name that divides the Gulf of Nice from the Gulf of Juan les Pins, Antibes is one of the most important cities on the Côte d’Azur and is one of the most important ports in the world for yachting.
Its marina, Port Vauban with its 1500 berths for a length of up to 160 meters, is one of the largest and most popular in the Mediterranean and is divided into two distinct parts, the first, the ancient one and closest to the city center. is intended for small and medium-sized boats, while the second, the one closed by the famous quai des Milliardaires and intended to accommodate maxi and mega yachts, we often see the Dilbar moored here, the second largest yacht in the world.
The port is located right on the edge of the ancient walls of the old city, on which you cannot fail to take a beautiful walk and admire the imposing monumental sculpture “Le Nomade” by the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa which, seen at night from the sea, being completely illuminated, has an almost touching effect.
The town of Antibes is rich in history, art, museums and art galleries. Surely the most important museum is that of Picasso, housed inside the Chateau Grimaldi, absolutely unmissable!
The characteristic Provencal covered market located inside the old city is also worth a visit. Here we also find many shops ideal for shopping.
Every year, the famous “Les Voiles d’Antibes” regatta is organized, which takes to the sea many vintage wooden or steel boats that have made the history of offshore sailing from the late 1800s to the 1980s.
Just outside the city, sailing towards the cape of the same name, we find a beautiful cove with an equipped beach at the bottom: the Plage de la Garoupe.
Very often during the weeks on a sailing boat on the Côte d’Azur our skippers drop anchor in this bay that is sheltered by the wind and the sea from the west and advise guests on board to have fun by turning to the beach boys who organize various activities , including water skiing, wakeboarding, towing donuts and various watersports.
From this beach also starts the wonderful walk on the coastal path that goes all the way around the cape, from Antibes to the Baie des Milliardaires, from which you can admire all the countless coves that are along the cape.
Along the cap d’Antibes you can admire the dream villas scattered along the coast, among which the most famous are the Chateau de la Garoupe, once belonged to the Russian magnate Boris Berezovsky and the Chateau de la Croë owned by Roman Abramovic.
Continuing to navigate along the perimeter of the cape, you can admire the villa Eilen Roc built in neoclassical style and today owned by the municipality of Antibes, which can now be visited as it houses the Beaumont foundation and finally, after passing the small beach “De l’Argent Faux”, you reach the Baie des Milliardaires, a bay that can only be reached from the sea, surrounded by dream villas and with a rocky side from which you can make incredible dives.
Turning the head you can still see the Villa de la Mosquee overlooking both parts of the peninsula of “L’Ilette” with its private landing and then the Villa Eden Roc – Hotel du Cap, one of the most beautiful hotels in the world.
Our skippers, knowing the area to perfection, will take you to discover the most beautiful and least known glimpses and anchorages in the area, making your week on a sailing boat on the French Riviera unforgettable!
Good wind!!
